Rock Legends 1960’s
by Paul Berriff
Paul Berriff began his career in 1962 photographing street life in his native city of Leeds. He was sixteen years old. The following year he became a photographer with the Yorkshire Evening Post. At the same time, the pop music era had just begun.
Paul used this exciting time as a theme for a photographic documentary essay. He photographed most of the 1960s bands and solo artists during their first tours of the UK. His black and white images are now valuable items and have been exhibited and purchased by collectors and legendary musicians worldwide. The former CEO of The Beatles Story in Liverpool said, “These are the finest photographs I have seen of The Beatles at this time in their career.”
Paul Berriff continues his career as a fine art photographer, cinemaphotographer and documentary filmmaker. Paul has won over 20 international awards for his films and still photographs including two BAFTA awards for ‘Best Documentary.’
